Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, 34% of women said they will delay pregnancy. In the past 30 years, the average age of newborn mothers in developing countries has been gradually increasing. Financial worries and focus on career are two common reasons women postpone childbirth.

Although fertility treatments such as intrauterine insemination and assisted reproductive technologies such as in vitro fertilization make it easier for women to become pregnant at an advanced age, pregnancies over 40 still have some increased risks, including conception and pregnancy itself. But for some women over the age of 40, the road to getting a mother is not so easy. Fertility treatments and assisted reproductive technologies do not always help.

A woman’s fertility starts to decline in her thirties, and it starts faster in her thirties, and by the age of 45, it is already too low and she is unlikely to conceive naturally. Therefore, especially for women over 35 years old, they are bound to face a realistic question: Is fertility at an older age? If you don't give birth now, can you give birth in a few years? Will there be fertility disorders (infertility)? Because the fertility of human beings gradually declines with age, especially the decline of fertility in elderly women over 35 years old is more obvious. The reason is the decrease of ovarian reserve. Therefore, it is necessary to understand their own fertility and evaluate the ovaries. The reserve function is planned as early as possible.

At present, AMH is the best serological indicator that sensitively reflects ovarian function. AMH is also recognized and recommended by Chinese guidelines and expert consensus. For example, the 2017 "Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Infertility in Older Women" mentions AMH as a marker that reflects better ovarian reserve. . 2015 ACOG American Obstetrics and Gynecology Association consensus recognized that AMH is a common indicator for detecting ovarian reserve. In 2015, the "Expert Consensus on Assisted Reproductive Ovulation Stimulating Drug Therapy" proposed that the basic FSH value, AFC and AMH are the most commonly used indicators for evaluating ovarian reserve.

Check your current AMH level:

The sample will be sent to the laboratory for testing, and your AMH level will be analyzed. In healthy women, AMH levels initially increase until early adulthood, and then slowly decrease with age until they are undetectable. Five years before menopause, the growing follicles are exhausted.

The normal reference ranges of AMH values for women at different ages are as follows:

图片

AMH is lower than the normal reference range value, suggesting that it is caused by the decline of ovarian reserve and premature ovarian failure;

AMH is 2-3 times higher than normal, suggesting that it may be caused by polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

Note: Do not make any conclusions about the AMH level yourself. If the blood test shows that your anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) level is abnormal, please talk to your doctor.

Aucheer AMH test reagents understand your AMH level and other test results, find the best infertility treatment plan, and get the best results.
