● Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH)

 

Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH)It is secreted by functional granular cells in the preantral and small antral follicles in the ovary. For women, AMH is initially expressed in the ovaries of the 36-week fetus, and the secretion begins to increase in infants and young children, reaches a peak in adolescence, and gradually decreases after giving birth. In adult women, AMH is only derived from the ovaries, so it is used to evaluate ovarian reserve. AMH values will fluctuate with changes in ovarian function. The higher the concentration of AMH, the greater the stock of primordial follicles in the ovary, and the stronger the fertility. When AMH decreases, it means that the ovaries are aging, which means the decline of female fertility.
